Mino Raiola has passed away at the age of 54, his family confirm in statement

Mino Raiola, football’s most recognisable agent, has died at the age of 54 following an illness.

The Italian, who represented some of world football’s highest-profile players including Erling Haaland, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, was confirmed to have passed away on Saturday.

A statement posted on Raiola’s official Twitter account said: “In infinite sorrow we share the passing of the most caring and amazing Football Agent that ever was.

“Mino fought until the end with the same strength he put on negotiation tables to defend our players. As usual, Mino made us proud and never realised it.

“Mino touched so many lives through his work and wrote a new chapter in the history of modern football. His presence will forever be missed.

“Mino’s mission of making football a better place for players will continue with the same passion.

“We thank everybody for the huge amount of support received during these difficult times and ask for respect to the privacy of family and friends in this moment of grief.

“The Raiola Family.”

Reports that Raiola had died on Thursday was incorrect

It was incorrectly reported by some outlets on Thursday that Raiola had died.

The super agent later tweeted: “Current health status for the ones wondering: pi**ed off second time in 4 months they kill me. Seem also able to ressuscitate.”

However, it was reported at the time that Raiola was critically ill and now it’s been confirmed by his family that football’s most iconic agent is sadly no longer with us.
