Riky Rick dead – Rapper dies aged 34 as family say he was 'deeply loved'
Rapper Riky Rick has died at the age of 34, his family has confirmed.
The Family Values rapper, whose real name is Rikhado Muziwendlovu Makhado, leaves behind his wife, two kids, his mother, and five siblings.
His family shared a statement announcing the heartbreaking news today, Wednesday 23 February, which read: "Son, husband, father, brother and uncle, Riky 'Ricky' Makhado (34) sadly passed away in the early hours of this morning (23rd February) in Johannesburg.
"Affectionately known as Riky Rick across the globe, he was deeply loved by his family, friends and the entire entertainment industry.
"His love for family, friends, and community is well known. Riky's nurturing and developing of young musical talent is well documented and will forever be remembered."

No official cause of death has been revealed.
On the day he passed away, Riky Rick posted a cryptic message on his Twitter, which read: "I’ll return a stronger man. This land is still my home."
Fans immediately took to the social media platform to share their devastation over the news as one person wrote: "RIP Riky Rick man the most redefining artist in SA culture. The father of South African rap," with a dove emoji and a red heart emoji.
Another said: "I'm in disbelief. RIP Boss Zonke. Heaven couldn't wait for you. Go on, go home.#rikyrick," with a candle emoji.
While a third added: "Riky Rick's news broke my spirit." alongside two broken heart emojis.
The South African rapper was the founder and owner record label Cotton Club Records and was also a member of Boyz N Bucks.
Riky Rick rose to fame when he released his hit single Nafukwa in 2014 and the following year his debut album Family Values came out.
The album became certified platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa.
The musician met Bianco Naidoo in Sandton and the pair welcomed their first child, son Jordan.
After tying the knot in 2013, the couple welcomed their second son Maik Daniel in 2014.
