Social media users are fondly remembering one particular visit by Saudi King Abdullah in 2003, when the monarch was driven around Balmoral by Elizabeth, who, according to a former British ambassador to Saudi Arabia, asked the Queen to “slow down and concentrate on the road”.

Women were of course banned from driving at the time in the ultra-conservative kingdom and some speculated the Queen was making a point.
